Why Bar 1823?

1823 was the year that William Webb Ellis during a game of football at Rugby School first took the ball in his arms and ran with it. This act was to originate the distinctive feature of the game of Rugby which has since become a major world sport. Our bar is a tribute to the great man and the great game of Rugby!

Apart from our superb menu we also have an excellent choice of beers and an very extensive and competitively priced wine list.
